If you’re a sucker for a will-they-won’t-they situation, and an even bigger sucker for once they do (I will tell you right now the wait is worth it), then this is for you. Although it is not good to cheat on your spouse with a much younger, very mentally ill person, Rooney makes it sound pretty good. Please note: I do not endorse having sex with married men, but it does make for good literature. This book does a good job of looking at different types of relationships, and the varying levels of trust and intimacy you can have within them.
You’re either going to hate everyone in this book or want to be them, and maybe both! The characters at times got a bit self-obsessed, but maybe that’s because people can generally be kinda shitty. I felt like I related to the main character a lot, probably because I, too, am mentally ill and love to love emotionally unavailable people. But you and I might want different things from life, so tread carefully if you want to read this book!
